Introduction
An exercise or a rehabilitation programme is administered to each patient to meet his or her individual needs. This may be to manage an injury, acute or chronic pain, stress, chest conditions or a sports related injury.
Sport Specific Rehabilitation
We treat and rehabilitate patients who have suffered from a sport injury, pain or need to adapt their technique to enhance performance. The patient is evaluated and an individualised treatment programme worked out according to their specific needs. Rehabilitation is a key component in any sportsperson (elite or social athlete) after an injury or painful experience. Physiotherapy plays a vital role in decreasing pain, locating the source of the pain or problem, correcting technique to prevent future injuries and strengthening specific muscles to prevent re-injury. The Physiotherapist will also refer the patient to other professionals if needed.
Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
Orthopaedic rehabilitation is a type of physical therapy used to treat problems with the musculoskeletal system after surgery. The rehabilitation helps to regain normal biomechanics and to improve joint and muscle strength and control.
EMG machine
An EMG is a device used for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. This is used for the rehabilitation of muscle activation, strength and endurance during a rehabilitation program.
