A story about physiotherapy business partners, Karien and Christy
Meet Christy and Karien, physiotherapists in Bloemfontein, owners of Du Plessis & Jordaan Physiotherapists.
This is written for the public to get to know these two ladies a bit better and to learn how their lives intertwined to become partners.
Karien and Christy have alot in common.
From being business partners in their physio practice, to being functioning together in the leadership of their church to being very special friends. They both have two little boys of the same age, and their boys love each other alot. Their husbands also work together at the University of the Free State, and they also live down the road from one another, so their lives are most certainly intertwined.
They both studied physiotherapy at the University of the Free State. Christy finished in 2009, and Karien in 2010.
From student years, they were in the same church. They both met their husbands in this church, and to this day, Karien, Christy and their husbands serve together. Abel and Karien lead the Doxa Deo UFS church site which meets on campus, and Pieter and Christy are the supporting eldership couple. They strive to see growth in the students lives and see salvations and glorification of God's Name.
Christy started the Physiotherapy practice in 2011 and by the end of the year, Karien had joined her. They grew and added physiotherapists to the team to what it is today. They started at Bloemcare, Langenhovenpark and then opened a new branch at College Square in 2014. Karien officially became Christy's partner in 2017 and the practice has just been flourishing from her strengths.
A few years ago Karien and Christy travelled to Europe and got extra training in Physiotherapy, and had a wonderful time traveling together as friends.
They both are exercise lovers. They would also often go walking together in the evenings with their kids in their prams to get some fresh air and catch up on each others day.
Karien and Christy always laugh at the fact that no matter how much time they set aside for a meeting, they battle to get through everything they wanted to talk about.
It is unbelievable to see such a blessed relationship between two business partners. This shows the Lord's glory and is a testimony to their patients and the people of Bloemfontein.
