We are very excited to announce that 'Christy du Plessis Physiotherapy” is now 'Du Plessis and Jordaan Physiotherapy”!
Karien and Christy have worked together since 2012 and Karien became a partner of du Plessis & Jordaan in 2017. She qualified with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy at the University of the Free State in 2010, and graduated as top academic student in her class. She has a special interest in sport physiotherapy and obtained her Master’s degree in sport physiotherapy at the University of the Free State.
Karien’s passion for people and improving their quality of life is one of the core reasons why she enjoys physiotherapy. She treats her patients with skilled and evidence based techniques.
As a physiotherapist Karien is skilled in dealing with all types of pain and pathology relating specifically to the spine and the extremities. She has done courses cover a wide area including; treatment of chronic pain, basic body awareness therapy, dry needling therapy, headaches, Kinesio tape, Ethics, sports injuries and rehabilitation thereof.
In 2012 she attended a course in Belgium to improve her skill in management of psychiatry and mental health patients. She is also trained to perform screening tests to assess the risk of potential injury and to assist in the prevention thereof.
Her enthusiasm for physiotherapy grows continuously as she sees the impact that the right treatment can have on a patient’s quality of life and as she realizes the grace of God upon her life enabling her to practice in such a dynamic profession.
Even though she loves being a physiotherapist, it is surpassed by her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, her husband, her two boys and close family. She puts a high premium on relationships with family and friends and investing time and talents in the church and things that have eternal value.
Congratualtions Karien! We are very excited to have your wonderful expertise and talents as part of the leadership of this practice.
