What is cadence?
It is the number of steps one foot takes per minute. For example, in Polar products, a running cadence of 180 steps per minute is shown as 90.
What is a good cadence?
One foot must touch the ground anywhere between 80-90 times in one minute.
Tip:
Next time you get tired when you are busy with a run. Start to count your steps and check our cadence. Sometimes when we get tired we start to over stride. Longer strides actually puts more strain on your joints and muscles and you use more energy.
Avoid an injury. Increase efficiency. Count those steps.
